PUBG banned in Nepal
The Battle Royale PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is now banned in Nepal. Already today, providers and mobile operators across the country will begin to block PUBG streams.
The decision was made by the Nepal Communications Authority (NTA). The reasons for the prohibition of the Battle Royal are the same as in India: children’s play addiction and flashes of aggression. True, in the Indian cities the game was banned only during the exams.
According to Gamasutra, violence related to the game was not officially registered in Nepal. But the authorities of the country are still concerned about the negative impact of PUBG on schoolchildren and their academic performance.
In this regard, the Metropolitan Crime Division of Nepal (Metropolitan Crime Division) filed a lawsuit for the protection of public interests in the Kathmandu District Court. Before filing a lawsuit, the police consulted psychiatrists. Those confirmed that violence in the PUBG can lead to manifestations of aggression in real life.
